first to fall

Triplets Book 1

I’m anti-social to a fault.

A homebody to the extreme.

In a tailspin of events following the night I gave it a go at being an extrovert, I sang karaoke in a hockey bar, learned to never give markers to unattended children, and kissed a hockey player on my doorstep in a Wednesday Addams costume.

At first, I rejected Brooks when his dad pimped him out during his game–while we watched from the stands. Then again when he made it obvious he was used to women falling at his feet because of his hockey status.

I don’t even like hockey.

Between his matchmaking father and a mother who is slightly more subtle with her bribery of pies, Brooks and I became friends. Remaining “just friends” is a tried and true failure. A relationship is never going work with his career. With his tendency to be the center of attention and my aversion to any spotlight.

We couldn’t be more opposite for each other.

But I fell for Brooks, anyway.
